Design Philosophy
I believe your home should tell your story. My goal is to make every project simple, enjoyable, and personalized – creating spaces that reflect your taste and how you live. I love finding creative solutions that bring beauty and comfort together, all while keeping the process stress-free. As I like to say, “If a designer tells you to throw everything out, start by throwing out the designer.”

Meet Angela

Hi! I’m Angela, and I’ve been helping families create beautiful, comfortable homes in Southern Illinois for over 30 years. My path into interior design started at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where I studied fashion merchandising and business. After moving to Southern Illinois, I often found myself helping friends and family with decorating projects, and they kept encouraging me to turn my passion into a business. That encouragement led me to join Decorating Den Interiors, where I received the training and support that helped me build a successful design career. Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive three awards in the International Dream Room Competition, and I earned my DDCD – Decorating Den Certified Designer designation, the highest level of education within our organization.

My husband, Martin, and I are proud to call Southern Illinois home, where our son lives nearby, and we’re active in our local church. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll probably find me reading, enjoying live music at local wineries, or soaking up the sunshine in Bradenton, Florida. I also write for Life & Style and Lake Living magazines here in Southern Illinois and was thrilled to have my work featured in the national book Decorating Kids’ Rooms by Mary Wynn Ryan. To stay inspired, I regularly visit manufacturer showrooms and attend High Point Market in North Carolina – the international destination for home furnishings and design trends.
